28 Pre-medical students from the University of Minnesota participated in the Global Future Physicians program for 3 week in Dec – Jan. The objective of the program was to provide Educational experience activity to compare health, public health and medicine between India and United States and also getting introduced to various aspects of Indian Culture, Civilization, and Philosophy etc.
        Class room sessions on Health care services in India, Traditional and contemporary systems, NGO’s role in health care delivery, Gender and Health, Interface of Health and Environment etc, were some of the topics covered during the program. An interaction with the commissioner of Mysore gave the students an exposure to the solid waste management system in Mysore. The group also visited government, private and corporate hospitals in Mysore. Guided tours to historical places around Mysore, Beluru and Shravanabelagola gave an overview of art, architecture and culture of south India to the students.
