‘Samskriti Darshana:’ Know your Cultural Heritage
“Know your cultural Heritage” is a program organised by Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies to inculcate among our youth, cultural values of our Nation, so that these values would dominate over materialistic elements and channelise young minds bringing them closer to our culture and heritage.
The other program is to celebrate important historical events. The year 2010 offered an ideal event to celebrate 500th anniversary of Sri Krishnadevaraya’s accession throne of Vijayanagara Empire. The celebrations was in the form of photographic exhibition of monuments of Hampi, Vijayanagara; Student’s Programs-Elocution contest and a written quiz on the “Period of reign of Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya”. Finally the culmination of the celebrations was a day’s seminar on “Vijayanagara Vaibhava” .
